Deconstructing the animation short film project “BhaangBhung - The Timeline” which was planned in collaboration with BOHECO Life.
BhaangBhung is an informative documentary animation film concept that breaks down the myths & stereotypes about cannabis and brings up the facts to revive the industrial and medicinal use of cannabis in modern life.

Behind the Name “BHAANGBHUNG”
“Bhaang” is a Sanskrit word for Cannanbis and “Bhung” in Hindi means “to break”
The aim was to create a larger concept around cannabis that could be used to create an informative, interactive and entertaining series of works to break the stereotypes and stigmas associated with Cannabis and set a stage for more open and free conversations around Cannabis.
Visual Identity of logo
A unique style of hand-done typography in Hindi & English showing a thread converting into the name “BHaangBhung. It is bold and symbolic.
Story Board - Digital collage style
To piece the story together, the visuals were created from scratch.
Using art pieces from the archives of ancient art forms, painting, newspaper cutting etc. each composition was pieced together in a cut-out collage style.
Opening Animation
The opening animation featuring the BhaangBhung logo is composed of talking murals/sculptures deep in chatter about cannabis as if it is the talk of the town. Depiction like the Italian Renaissance paintings, the cannabis leaf is greeted by the flying Gandharva represented as a “Gift from the Gods”. The symbolism is an ode to the current reputation of Cannabis and how BhaangBhung will help unveil once again, the true glory of Cannabis.

Promotional Campaign Commuincation
A launch campaign across the brand’s social media channels to promote the premiere of the first creative series. A rollout of the teasers helps create hype and interest in the audience.
